While Canvas's parent company, Instructure, was making headlines for a major confirmed data incident in 2026, we were busy doing the deeply unglamorous work: Firebase auth and encrypted Firestore storage, Vercel + Cloudflare hosting, explicit "no model training" API terms with OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, and deletion tools you can actually find in the UI.
